THE STREET LIFE

We are black naggers On the street full of beggars Life is hard, making most of us waggers Don’t forget most of us are twiggers So we hit the street, so our babies will feed A day sick, the household bleeds So we struggle with all kinds of breeds A few noble ones, the rest full of greed. At sunset, we rush home with our little vittle Though not enough, it's quite a mantle We would watch our babies guttle A sight that sometimes makes us tootle. We do this so our children won’t end up as street urchins Though sometimes we wished to be consumed in our sleep by griffins, Click here We will never give up, even in our pains For our children see us as paladins. AN EULOGY TO AUNTIE YAA

Oh....oh...oh😪😪😪

So it was true
Our hearts; suddenly turning into breeding grounds of pain
Our eyes; blurring out with uncontrollable tears
Our voices; choking on our own words
Our bodies; trembling with great shocks

Oh Auntie Yaa, why blow the candle light off....
In this dark hour?
Whiles we asked for the light to light our path
Auntie, why do you refuse to take the water you sent for to quench your thirst?
Why do you say goodbye to us instead of good night?
Why....? why...? why...?

Can you just wake from this sleep?
You're taking long.
It has been days already
Do not permit us to accept that you've departed us.

We are grieved
We are saddened
We are disturbed
We are confused

How do we go about our normal duties.....
Without your regular advice to see us through?

Your temperature has gone cold for long
You've folded your arms for far too long
Please blink your eyes for us to believe the otherwise.

If it's true death has laid it's icy hand on you,
We are sorry not to have honored you before your departure
We are sorry not to have visited you when you needed our presence the most
We are sorry not to have stayed longer when we visited
We are sorry not to have offerered you the support you deserved

Auntie, your memories shall continue to live with us
We shall not forget to remember you
We shall strive to immortalize your humility and your ceaseless, selfless and workable advices.

May our Good Lord keep you safe in his bosom
May we meet at the bright end oneday.

Our today started without you
May our tomorrow start with you.
Fare thee well Auntie.

Rest In Perfect Peace
